About Rainbow Heights

Rainbow Heights is listed in our directory as a serviced residence. In Malaysia, serviced residences are a type of high-rise home that some buyers and tenants choose instead of a standard condominium. Rules and running costs can differ between the two. That is why it is worth understanding the property type before you commit. If you are comparing Rainbow Heights with other homes in the area, look at how each one is managed. Also check what your monthly costs would be and whether the unit layout suits how you live.

Location and neighbourhood

Rainbow Heights sits in Skudai, an established town in the Johor Bahru district that is home to a university. Skudai has a long-settled mix of housing and everyday shops and services. Many residents are students, young families and working people who travel to other parts of Johor Bahru. Johor Bahru itself is the state's main city, across the Causeway from Singapore. Skudai is one of 62 developments' home areas in our directory: there are 62 developments in total in Skudai. This gives you plenty of room to compare Rainbow Heights with other condominiums and serviced residences in the same town before deciding.

Living here: what to check before you buy or rent

Before you buy, ask the agent or the management office about the tenure and the land status. Check the monthly maintenance fee and sinking fund, and whether there are any outstanding charges on the unit. Ask which facilities are available to residents and how well they are kept. Always view the unit in person, ideally at different times of day, to judge noise, light and parking. Check the title and confirm the seller's ownership through your lawyer. Ask whether individual or strata titles have been issued. If you plan to rent, confirm what furniture and appliances are included. Ask who pays for utilities and repairs, and what the building's house rules say about guests, renovations and pets. Get every agreed point written into the tenancy agreement.
